The Jewish people have a tradition for a bride and groom on their wedding day to donate a Seudat Aniyim – a dinner for the poor of the city. This dinner allows the newlywed couple to start their life together with a wonderful act of chesed, loving-kindness, by inviting needy families from their community to share in their joy. The Seudat Aniyim is considered a special merit for the young couple in building their bayit ne'eman b'yisrael while thinking of others and helping the poor.
Keren HaTzadik continues this wonderful custom by allowing the families of the chatan and the kallah, the bride and the groom, to donate a Seudat Aniyim for poor families in Israel. We will organize the seudah and distribute it to poor families in a dignified and honorable way. Wouldn’t you like to start out your marriage in this charitable way?
