The miracle that happened to the volunteer who collected left over food from a wedding
A month before her wedding, the kalla called Keren HaTzadik to arrange with them to collect the left over food from her wedding and give it to the poor. She faxed the wedding invitation to the organization and this wedding was added to their list of "authorized" weddings.
On the night of the wedding the volunteer drove to Talpiot a suburb of Jerusalem where the wedding was taking place. With his car loaded with 20 dishes of different meats, fish, salads and delicious cakes the volunteer set off to Keren HaTzadik'S Sstorehouse in Kiryat Moshe. At about 11:45pm not even half way there his car suddenly broke down. The volunteer not knowing how to fix his car himself had no choice but to wait for someone to stop and help him out. Finally at about 1pm a car stopped to help. The driver of the car was a worker from East Jerusalem who claimed to be a mechanic and that for a fee of 100 sheckels would fix the car. The volunteer immediately agreed and within 30 minutes his car was once again in working order. The mechanic agreed to follow the volunteer to the storehouse and then to his office where he would be able to receive his payment.
The volunteer drove to the storehouse, unloaded the food into the fridges of Keren HaTzadik and drove on to his office eager to pay his debt to the man who had helped him out.
However to his dismay, once in his office, he discovered that he had no money there what so ever to pay the man. The volunteer did not know what to do It was 2am, the streets were empty there was no one he could ask to borrow the money from. How would he explain to the man after all he had done for him that he could not pay him as promised? Distressed and dismayed the volunteer sat down and prayed to Hashem to help him out.
And then came the great miracle: at that very moment another man approached the volunteer and said that he recognized him as a volunteer of Keren HaTzadik and would he please accept the 100sheckels that his son had managed to raise for the organization...
The volunteer felt that he had met Eliyahu Hanavi himself...
